Back from Retreat

Well, I am back from retreat. I finished 35 layouts. I won't show them all to you here, but here are the five that I made with my Frosted Designs kit.

Wednesday, June 18, 2014

I am officially all packed up for my weekend scrapping retreat with some far away friends. We only see each other once or twice a year, but we stay close by internet and facebook. I used each and every one of the "crop in style" bags I bought years ago from Tuesday Morning. I used each bag to pack a different category of scrappy goodness. I have one bag with patterned paper and cardstock, one with photos and embellishments, one with tools, and one with lotions and potions as well as two CTMH containers with ink and stamps in them. I have been so busy packing I have not done much scrapping lately but I will have lots to show you when I return.

Scrapbook Blessings Club June Card Kit Reveal

The new card kit for June is American Crafts Mayberry Collection.
The cards I made from the kit are pictured below.

On this one I just made punched border edges from three of the pp and layered them on the blue cardstock base 5.5 x 4 inches. The cherry embellishment is from the kit and the stamped image is also from the kit.

On this one I made the banner by punching out the shapes I wanted then attach them to a piece of white cardstock then trimming the white cardstock close to the edges of the banner pieces.
The flower embellishment is from the kit and I used the Signo white pen which is also in the kit for the faux stitching and printing the sentiment.
It is our monthly card kit reveal time. Scrapbook Blessings Club is joining up with Scrapping For Less, and we are bringing you affordable Mini CARD KITS!!!  For June, we are featuring
 Mayberry from American Crafts

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is perfect for all levels of scrapbookers! So whether you are a newbie or an experience scrapper, these kits has everything you'll need to create fast and easy projects. All you need to do is get out your scissors, paper trimmer and adhesive.

Why card kits? A couple reasons, one is getting fabulous papers and embellishments from popular Scrapbooking Companies, without buy a ton that you never use and letting it all just sit in the drawer.
The second is cost. I am a frugal scrapbooker and affordability is always high on my list.  It is not always easy to spend $30- $50 on a kit.
Our kits will be $15.00 which INCLUDES shipping!

And lastly is convenience, with these kits, there is no guess work in getting papers to coordinate along with embellishments and fabrics, etc.

Who doesn't love fun and affordable--papers, flowers, chalk inks, brads, chalkboard, stamps, buttons.. more!! Every month you get something a little different!

Scrap Our Stash May Sketch Challenge

I made this from my Frosted Designs kit, gesso, Tim Holtz stencil, Heidi Swapp gold mist, Lindy's stamp gang brown mist, and a circle and puddle stencil. First I laid down a layer of gesso. Then I used Heidi Swapp mist on the tim holtz stencil on the top half. Then I turned the stencil over to use the mist on the front of the stencil for the bottom half. Then I used the Lindy's mist and applied it with a sponge through the circle and puddle stencil. I used a CTMH stamp on top of the xoxo tag for the chevron look. I used a signo white pen to make the marks on the bottom of the xoxo tag. It is based on a sketch from Scrap Our Stash which you can find here: http://scrapourstash.blogspot.com/.

Layout #4 with the Frosted Designs May kit

Here is my 4th Layout with the Frosted designs May kit. And I still have more to use!
This is my dear son at 3 years old. I used a Tim Holtz stencil and copper Irresistables. I sprayed the copper spray on a paper plate and daubed a sponge in it to daub on the stencil. Then I daubed some of the spray on a background stamp on the upper right corner and to the left of the bottom of the photo.
I used gesso on the paper before I used the stencil.
Thanks for looking.
Comments are appreciated.

Emboss resist with ink

This is the card I did for the challenge over at Scrapbook Blessings Club this week.
It involves heat embossing with white or clear embossing powder of a stamped image and then putting ink over it. Then you wipe the ink off of the embossed images.

Remember it is never too early to start your card stash for Christmas!
